You're Not the Boss of Me!

Well, we had our group meeting last night!

What a pleasure it is to see each of you, share in fellowship and come together in the word of God!

For our long distance friends, and for those that were there, I'm posting below the questions discussed.  Be sure to leave a comment on any question that stands out to you and hopefully we'll get a good dialogue going online.

Today's the day to start reading for the next meeting - Monday, October 6, we'll meet to discuss weeks 3 & 4 of the study.

Here's the recap:
From week 1:
The memory verse:  2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Questions to consider:
8.  Look at what the Lord told Paul in Acts 18:10.  What can help you not to be afraid to speak the truth or preach the gospel?
11. Where do you find comfort?  Do you seek it from others, or do you run to the Father of mercies and God of all comfort?
- In which order do you run to whom?
From week 2:
The memory verse: 2 Corinthians 2:2-4
Questions to consider:
12. Why is it important for you to keep your word, instead of saying one thing and meaning another?
Extra questions not discussed in group but bearing discussion after reading by all:
7.  According to Matthew 6:14-15, what is the result of unforgiveness?  What does it produce in a person's life?

And finally - great nuggets to hold onto lie on pages 42-44 - reread that section and see how God might use it to speak to you today, where you are in your church family... and thus you will find meaning to the title of this post.

Happy commenting, I'll sign up to receive the comments by email to hear more from you ;-)

Love you all,
Jodi

I can only comment on week one--still trying to catch up.
what can help me not be afraid to preach the gospel: To have more confidence in myself and what I already know and believe about Jesus

where do I find comfort---that all depends on if I am trying to control my life or allowing GOD to be the driver. The days that I think I know what is best I depend on myself or others for comfort and forget to run to God. However over the past 2 months, I have made it a priority of mine to go straight to him, and let me tell you how much fun and enjoyable life is when I do this.

I hope to have week two finished by this weekend----take care

Our country needs some prayers. Please say a prayer for our elected leaders in this time of great uncertainty.

I used to hate the idea of being a sheep. I used to hate the idea of someone else being in control of my life. Course that was when I had my own misgivings about the FREEDOM that comes with God being in charge.
